Rapany ("we", "us") runs rapany.com, a service that turns your photos into short, funny AI rap videos. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email support@rapany.com.

The short version

• Your photos are used to make the video you asked for and to run a safety check on it. We don't sell them, and we don't use them to train AI models.
• Every photo, lyrics topic and finished video goes through an automated safety check before anything is made or shown.
• We measure how people use the site with our own first-party analytics (no ad networks by default).
• You can ask us to delete your photos, videos or whole account at any time.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We also record the approximate locale and IP address your account was created from, to prevent abuse.

Photos you upload. The photos you add to a stage (for example a selfie, a friend who agreed, or your pet). We prepare each photo in your browser (resize and convert to JPG) before it is uploaded.

What you type. The optional "vibe" or lyrics topic you give for a full video.

Videos we make for you. The generated preview and full videos, plus details such as the stage, the model used and the render status.

Payment information. Purchases are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We receive the order details, amount, currency and the email used at checkout. We never see or store your full card number.

Usage and device data. We keep a first-party log of key actions on the site, such as visiting a page, picking a stage, uploading a photo, starting a render, opening the sign-in or purchase prompt, and buying credits. Each entry can include:

• a random anonymous ID stored in a cookie (not your name or email);
• where your first visit came from: the referring website (for example a search engine or ChatGPT), and any campaign tags in the link (UTM parameters or ad click IDs);
• device type (phone, tablet or desktop), operating system, browser and screen size;
• your country, derived from your IP address by our hosting provider. We do not store a precise location.

Support messages. Anything you send us by email or through a support ticket.

How we use it

We use this information to:

• create, show and deliver your videos, and keep them in My Videos;
• run automated safety checks on photos, lyrics topics and finished videos, and enforce our house rules;
• manage your account, credits, free preview and purchases, including automatic credit refunds for failed renders;
• prevent fraud and abuse, such as creating many accounts to get extra free previews;
• understand which pages and channels work, and improve the product (for example the share of renders that succeed, or how many visitors from each source sign up);
• answer support requests and send essential service emails (sign-in links, receipts, security notices).

We do not use your photos or videos to train our own or third-party AI models. We do not create face templates or other biometric identifiers to recognize or identify you. The AI video model reads your photo only to generate the video you requested.

Legal bases (EU/UK users). We process your data to perform our contract with you (making videos, accounts, payments), for our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, basic product analytics), to comply with legal obligations (tax and accounting records), and with your consent where the law requires it (for example optional analytics or advertising cookies).

Safety checks

To keep the service safe, we run automated checks before anything is made and again before a video is shown:

1. the lyrics topic is checked for sexual, hateful, violent or harassing content;
2. each photo is checked for nudity, sexual content and other prohibited content, including any sign of a minor;
3. each finished video is checked frame by frame before it becomes visible or downloadable.

If a check flags your content, nothing is made (or the finished video is withheld and deleted from our storage) and any credits used are returned. We keep a record of the result, including still images of the flagged moments of a video held by our safety-check provider, so that our team can review possible mistakes and enforce our rules. We do not review your photos or videos by hand unless a check flagged them, someone reported them, or a legal obligation requires it.

Who processes your data

We share data only with service providers who help us run the service, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing those services:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, to enforce our Terms, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (with this policy continuing to apply). We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How long we keep it

• Photos and videos: kept while your account is active so they appear in My Videos. You can ask us to delete specific items at any time. We delete them within 30 days of your request, or of your account deletion.
• Free previews that fail a safety check are not stored; only the check result is kept.
• Usage and analytics events: up to 24 months, then deleted or aggregated.
• Payment and order records: as long as tax and accounting law requires (usually up to 7 years).
• Account data: until you delete your account, plus a short period for backups and abuse prevention.

Your choices and rights

You can:

• access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
• correct inaccurate data;
• delete your photos, videos or account;
• object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it;
• opt out of optional analytics by blocking cookies (see our Cookie Policy).

Email support@rapany.com from the address on your account to make a request. We answer within 30 days. Residents of the EU/UK may also complain to their local data protection authority. California residents have the rights described in the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for using them. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

Children

Rapany is only for adults (18+). Photos of anyone under 18 are not allowed and are blocked by our safety checks. If you believe a minor has used the service or appears in content on it, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and encrypted storage for secrets such as API keys. Uploaded files are stored under random, unguessable names. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and tell us about any suspected issue.

International transfers

We and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will notify you by email or on the site before they take effect.
